I wanna tell a little description about the traditional house of aceh...
The traditional house of the Aceh is called Rumoh Aceh. The Acehnese houses always face north or south. Aceh traditional house is one of acehnese landmark . In this house, acehnese people live and stay in this house. This traditional house have many colourful ornament in the wall, windows, doors and in the roof. This house is full by beautiful ornaments.
This house structure uses
compact wooden structures of a
post-and-beam or H-structure, set ontop of flat, natural stones and not
using nails in this house structure. This house also known as “high
houses” and
are built onto tall posts to protect against animal attacks and
flooding. Floors are made of wooden
planks or rattan of feather palm; thin, interlaced sections of split
bamboo or coconut leaves make up the walls, and sago palm leaves or
corrugated iron cover the steeply pitched roofs.

An
Acehnese home owner is most likely to be a woman. That's why in this
traditional house uses many beautiful and colourful ornaments. In
Achnese
tradition, when a daughter is married, her father gives her a separate
dwelling. If the family is too poor, an annex will be erected onto their
house.

Cakra Donya's Bell

Cakra Donya's bell is one of herritage landmark in Banda Aceh. This bell have a story about how that bell can come to Aceh. I wanna tell you a little history about this bell.
This bell place now in Aceh Museum. In this museum, we can see the most interesting collection is a big
bell called “Lonceng Cakra Donya”, a gift from China Grand-Duke (Ming
Emperor, in the 15th century) for Sultan Aceh that was delivered by a
Chinese Moslem, Admiral Cheng Ho in 1414, we could read an inscription
on the bell : “Sing Fang Niat Toeng Juut Kat”. Nowadays, the bell isn't sound. Because according to the history, the main bell was lost.

This Governor's Residence building has
built by the Dutch in 1880 on the spot where the palace of the sultan
once stood. This building is known as one of the historical sites with a
unique architecture and completed with traditional house equipments. We usually call this building with "pendopo" .
